The fastest growing social networking site of 2012 Pinterest
is a must for those within the creative industry. As a picture sharing platform, the 'virtual pinboard' layout organises images across a range of interests from wedding dresses to gadgets, from food to photography and all manner of things in between.
Pinterest is the perfect place to showcase your brand. Be selective about what you pin; nobody likes a hard sell and people aren't going to buy things on Pinterest - not yet anyway. Sure, pin your products, but remember, pinning about your interests, what inspires you and what your business is doing for the community are all things that will add value to your boards and your brand and keep people coming back.
Much like the other social networks, Pinterest is great for building relationships and another free channel to drive people to your website (which is great for SEO). The cliché "a picture speaks a thousand words"
is too true here, the freedom Pinterest allows for expression, lets you show people exactly what your brand is all about.
If we've captured your imagination, here's a creative trick we found via Mashable. We carved our favourite duck into nine separate images to create a tiled board (see image above), which we think looks pretty cool. We've included the link to the tutorial
so have a go and show us what you can do.
Don't simply look on with Pinterest, get involved!
