Greenpeace challenges fb to 'unfriend' coal...

GREENPEACE CHALLENGES FB TO 'UNFRIEND' COAL...

Greenpeace has launched a new campaign to try to get facebook off coal by Earth Day on April 22nd, using their very own trojan horse of sorts... a facebook page!

Unquestionably, social media is a powerful way to promote environmental awareness, green initiatives and global change, so what better way to make facebook itself "go green".

Greenpeace are asking Mark Zuckerberg and facebook to sign a pledge with four commitments:

1. Increase use of clean energy to make facebook coal free.
2. Develop a plan to make facebook coal free by 2021.
3. Educate users about how facebook powers its services and its carbon footprint.
4. Advocate for clean energy at a local, national and international level.

Facebook has been known to respond to public pressure, so this could be the start of something big. Visit the Greenpeace page and lend your support. Cleaning up facebook might just be the start!
