RICH'S HANNAH WITH NESSIE
Hannah's winning entry 'Claire on holiday in Tenerife' wasn't put on the website last week as I was in Munich, but it's on our facebook page if you want to take a look. And continuing a recent trend, i.e. the champion not being around the following week to judge the contest, it was down to Emma to do the honours.
Inspired by her trip to Scotland, Han had chosen "me in a boat with the Loch Ness monster" as her subject. It's been said that even the great Michaelangelo quaked at the prospect of sketching such a spectacle, so only the very finest scribblers could possibly attempt such a feat, let alone win it! Do you see where I'm going with this?
I think we need a drum roll here as I announce the artiste par excellence who took on all comers and triumphed in spectacular style...
Yes indeed. After 3 long months of blood, sweat and tears (mainly Dunk's), and a steady slew of Top 5 finishes, I've finally claimed the top spot. And between us, I don't even think it was my best work to date. What can I say, I'm nothing if not modest... and really, really ridiculously talented.
The pressure's on now to think of a good subject for next week, so if anyone has any suggestions, drop me an email.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my mum and dad for buying my first set of crayons, Mr Ravenhall my GCSE art teacher, and Vincent van Gogh for teaching me that art is pain and giving me the strength to carry on...
